Why Girls Should Not Cut Their Hair Short

http://totalfratmove.com/why-girls-should-not-cut-their-hair-short/

This article was published by Total Frat Move "TFM" a few days ago all about why girls should never cut their hair short. I don't think I even need to comment that much on this, the article speaks for itself. It seems like everything that comes from TFM is mildly offensive but this is above and beyond. The authors make it clear that a woman cutting her hair short is the single most disastrous thing that can happen. They also make it clear that a woman will not recieve the attention she needs if her hair is short, further enforcing that a woman's appearance is not her own, it is only a product of the male gaze.  They even go as far as to insult Jennifer Lawrence for her weight. The degree of ignorance has left me speechless...

  1. "Girls, I am here to save you from yourselves" What. No.

Oh here's another questionable quote: "You might look at Rihanna and think That’s edgy. That’s worth aiming for, but she also rocks the “I just got punched by my boyfriend” look, so her judgment is questionable at best."

Fat shaming, victim blaming, and saving girls from themselves... Wow this article is pathetic.

  2. I tried to read this ridiculous article but couldn't make it past the sentence beneath Jennifer Lawerence pictures that said, "Should of cut her dessert instead." I can't.

  3. This article pissed me off so much! It's just so ridiculous that I can't even imagine that someone took the time to type this up, and still didn't realize how stupid it sounded.

Take the 2nd topic for example, succinctly titled "You Will Stand Out, But Not in A Good Way", where the "author" begins by saying that guys will only notice things about a girl if they are "spectacular or spectacularly awful". I think that the perfect response to such as statement would be"who the fuck cares what guys notice?" Is this person so arrogant as to to think, or truly naive enough to believe that every woman in the entire word cuts/wears their hair a certain way so that random dude that they've never seen before/don't notice will notice them?

Such thoughts strike me as the ramblings of a vain, spoiled child, whose background leads them to believe that other people should be subject to every small minded though they've ever had. However, the fact that the author though that such an article would receive praise ( and indeed he may have) highlights exactly how screwed up people can become when they live in a society that teaches them that by virtue of birth, they are superior to other people, and a wonderful reminder of why feminism is necessary.

  4. I could legitimately barely make it through this article. I completely agree with everything everyone has said so far. There's honestly so much ridiculous misogyny and heteronormativity in this that I don't even know how to make thoughts about it.

This maybe is one of my favorite lines: "Even if you don’t have a glaring flaw, there’s one thing of which I’m sure: your face is going to look fat. Need further proof? Look at that picture of ole Jennifer Lawrence above and remember that she looked fine before." REALLY BECAUSE YOU JUST SAID THAT SHE NEEDED TO LOSE TEN POUNDS BEFORE YOU'D "BANG HER" WHEN SHE HAD LONGER HAIR. COME AGAIN?

  5. I find it really stupidly hilarious that the 'author's name is Roger Sterling as if he's some great vision of a human being. I don't get articles like this, because what's the point of it in the first place. Who said that you're opinion matters at least in the context of telling someone else what they should with themselves. The comments from the article just seem so weird to me because i really doubt half of them would ever have the guts to say it to someone's face. And whenever a commentator says anything that discounts the article they go straight for the other person's possible appearance.
