Blog Post for November 4-10

I missed Saturday Night Live last night but I just watched a clip of the opening scene and I thought it was AWESOME.  Kerry Washington (who I adore by the way. Scandal is amazing) was the celebrity host.  They did a skit that was an acknowledgement of the lack of inclusion in the SNL cast.  The scene starts off with Barack Obama and Michelle talking and then the secret service coming in and saying that Oprah is here and telling Michelle that she “has to go change” (saying she has to change to be Oprah).  It’s a funny and eye opening.  There is also another point in the scene were they say “oh and there are going to be seven different Matthew McConaughey at the party!”  Which is showing that there are so many white men in the cast.  I hope that this skit actually does encourage the people in charge of hiring to hire include more people.  Check out the video it’s a good one.

  1. I've never watched SNL that much but I loved the skit! Like you said, I hope it actually gets SNL to include more people in their cast but who knows..

  2. This skit was hilarious! I hope that it was indicative of a desire by the hire ups to get a more diverse cast!
